Fundashon Marshe Curaçao | is the driving force behind the island’s iconic markets, such as Plasa Bieu, Marshe Rondo, Plasa di Arte, and the vibrant markets at Sha Caprileskade, Otrabanda, and Punda. Since 1997, under the Ministry of Economic Development, we have been managing these cultural hotspots. Our mission? To empower small entrepreneurs, foster innovation, and showcase Curaçao’s rich culture – from fresh local products to creative initiatives. With a fresh vision for sustainability and growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Communication Intern to join our team. A dushi internship opportunity on ‘Dushi Korsou’!
What Will You Do?
As a Marketing Communication Intern, you’ll dive into the vibrant world of our markets and take on real responsibilities in exciting projects. You’ll work closely with the team to promote local entrepreneurs and Curaçao’s heritage. Your tasks include:
- Supporting the development and execution of marketing and communication campaigns to attract visitors and support small businesses.
- Writing and editing content for social media (e.g., Instagram and Facebook), newsletters, blogs, and our website – think stories about local dishes, events, and cultural highlights.
- Managing our social media channels, including posting about market activities and engaging with followers.
- Analyzing campaign results using tools like Google Analytics and preparing simple reports on visitor numbers and engagement.
- Assisting with the organization of events, such as market festivals, workshops, or promotional days, and coordinating photo or video shoots.
- Brainstorming creative ideas to position our markets as must-visit destinations for tourists and locals alike.
Who Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for a motivated HBO student with a passion for Curaçao’s culture and marketing:
- You are pursuing an HBO degree in Marketing, Communication, Communication & Multimedia Design, Commercial Economics, or a related field.
- You have an affinity for (digital) marketing, social media, and storytelling, ideally with a touch of local pride for Curaçao.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English (spoken and written); knowledge of Papiamentu is a big plus.
- Experience with tools like Canva, WordPress, Google Analytics, or social media platforms (e.g., Odoo) is a bonus.
- You are creative, proactive, enthusiastic, and enjoy working in a small, close-knit team in a dynamic environment.
- You are available for at least 4 days per week and live in Curaçao (or are willing to relocate for the internship).
